First, let me take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE for your help and support this season...You all (players, parents, and coaches) made this season a total team effort!  I feel like the luckiest man on earth to have been truly blessed with such an experience as this season was.  But...our work is not done!  Medina Lacrosse is going to continue to improve, expand and excite for a long time to come.

Excuse this old man and his ramblings...I am just so happy for our Team...the players and the coaches!

I would encourage your input on things you saw this season. Things you liked, things you didn't or things you would like to see changed. Your feedback will help the team and our coaches grow and improve.  Please take some time to reflect and send me your thoughts if you'd like. You can do this simply by sending me an e-mail.

Assistant Coach Jansen Wehrley

MHS LAX was able to catch up with Assistant Coach Jansen Wehrley recently and find out a little more about the guy. Here is what he wrote.

I am a 2003 graduate of Medina High School, I have over ten years of lacrosse experience and have played at the middle school, high school and college level. My positions include long stick middie and close defense for the Bees.  In High School I was a starter on the 2003 Division II State Championship team with Coach O'Brien.

After High School I continued playing lacrosse at Wittenberg University where I played long stick middie.  I played under two different head coaches at Wittenberg and have a lot of experience in different defenses, game strategy, and preparation.

As a coach with college lacrosse experience, my goal is to have a simplified defense that will prepare our high school athletes for the next level.  I teach fundamentals with a focus on communication, positioning, and responsibility.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University, and an Associates Degree in Urban Forestry and Arboriculture from Hocking College.  I am employed as the arborist for the City of Medina. I have a passion for playing/coaching lacrosse and I love the outdoors, espceically hunting, fishing, tree/rock climbing, and lacrosse.

It is an honor to be Pat O' Brien's assistant and defensive coach for Medina High School Varsity Lacrosse.
